Princeton WannaBe Blog
I'm not a real historian. I didn't grow up in Princeton. I don't have an Ivy League education.
I'm a total Princeton WannaBe.
Still, I gush about loving the heart of Princeton as much as I can!
On This Snowy Day, I'm Glad I'm NOT Channeling Ellen Wilson!
Today, the snow is coming so most Pincetonians are headed out to get supplies. If I were Ellen Wilson, I would be thinking, "Oh no, in two days it's Woodrow's birthday. I HAVE to get eggs and grape juice!" Why? Her hubby, Woodrow liked two raw eggs and grape juice for breakfast! (Yep, White House staffers were horrified but that's what he wanted!)
Did you know Woodrow put a fence around Prospect House to keep the boys from trampling Ellen's garden? (Either that or to keep them away from his three girls ..... no one is completely sure but both stories make us giggle!)
Did ya know ..... merchants in town liked Woodrow Wilson. He would ask "How's the butcher business" and they would reply "Probably as good as the education business".
The school tours planned for 2011 make ALL the Presidential Greats, Genius Inventors and Literary Wonders come to life. This year we'll add I-PADS to the mix to keep the conversation interesting for Princeton's future GREATS!
